Beginning
of Change
by B Johnston

The crises that have occurred recently have been awful but/and they have served a sacred and sacrificial purpose … illuminating a lot of hidden corruption and injustice … and so they bring the beginning of enlightenment and change. That’s where I want to position myself … not in a place where I’m focused on the past but where I’m ready to help birth the future. I’m not sure exactly how that’s going to look and in the words of Tommy Smothers, if you don’t know what you’re talking about then you don’t know when to stop, so I’ll keep that in mind.
I’ve spoken to political and spiritual sages about what’s ahead and not one of them has said, oh, yeah, Armageddon. They’ve each
acknowledged some tumultuous times ahead. The corporate model isn’t working for us and it has to change. And overwhelmingly, what they see replacing it is an energy of the divine feminine … powerful , earthy, spiritual and nurturing. All the feminine wisdom which has been
suppressed by the scientific model (the idea that if you can’t “prove” it, it doesn’t exist) will re-emerge and begin the healing. Saying this to you is part of my owning my stuff. I know it sounds airy fairy to some folks, which is why I haven’t said it out loud … for fear of raising eyebrows. But I can’t hide it and offer it at the same time. I’ve got to say that women know stuff … women have always known stuff … that society has very successfully
suppressed. Women with the gift of healing and intuition have, throughout history, even before the Salem Witch trials, been perceived as threatening. The scope of their
suppression has been vast and women have learned to deny their truth, their power and they’ve learned to fit into narrow definitions of “acceptable” in order to survive. What I’m stepping out and owning, right now, is that I’m through with that game. I’m standing in what I know to be my truth and what I know to be the truth for a huge number of women and for some very special men and if other people roll their eyes and call it airy fairy then that’s what they have to do. I’m standing up for a return to a way of living that’s not about winning and punishment but about reconciliation and love. And I’m not apologizing anymore.
